About Dr. Jillian Burkley, DSW, LICSW

Hi, I'm Jillian—a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Social Work and over 13 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's challenges.

My approach is rooted in seeing you as a whole person shaped by systems—not a collection of symptoms. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, or life transitions, I bring an intersectional, trauma-informed lens that honors the complexity of your experiences.

I've worked across diverse settings—from schools and juvenile justice to community mental health and private practice—always asking "how can systems better support people?" rather than "what's wrong with this person?" This perspective shapes everything I do in therapy.

I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Structural Family Therapy, adapting my approach to what you actually need. I'm a lifelong learner who stays current with emerging research while keeping our work practical and grounded in real life.

Outside of sessions, you'll find me asking thought-provoking questions on a whiteboard in my front yard (yes, really—it's my favorite community project), planning themed birthday parties for my kids, or exploring my new home in Falls Church, Virginia, with my family.

I believe therapy should feel like a genuine conversation where you're truly seen and heard. If that resonates with you, I'd love to connect.
